Senior PharmAssist promotes healthier living for older adults in Durham by helping them obtain and better manage needed medications and by providing tailored health education, Medicare insurance counseling, community referrals, and advocacy.

Senior PharmAssist is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been providing services to older adults in Durham since 1994. Senior PharmAssist serves Durham adults aged 60+ with financial assistance to access cost-prohibitive prescription medications, medication therapy management, and tailored community referrals. As the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) coordinating site in Durham, we also provide unbiased Medicare insurance counseling to any Durham resident, regardless of age or income. Our goal is to work with older adults, their care  partners, healthcare providers, and community resources to help participants remain as healthy, independent, and engaged as possible for as long as possible.

Funds raised by the Durham Softball League will allow Senior PharmAssist to provide financial assistance, medication therapy management, tailored community referrals, and Medicare insurance counseling to every Durham resident who needs our help. Community support also helps us with our outreach efforts, so we can get the word out to as many people as possible about our program and how to access our services.

Senior PharmAssist is located inside the Durham Center for Senior Life (406 Rigsbee Avenue, Suite 201, Durham, NC 27701-2186)
